My 10 year old bought it with money he had saved up and though the colors on the instructions were a bit off from the actual colors and is the only downfall to my review. I would consider my son to be a pretty professional Lego builder, so his comments could help other purchaser's help in guidance.
The whole piece is bigger than I expected and a perfect addition to our Christmas decorations while adding my son's love of Legos. Though this isn't Lego brand, these pieces for nice and tight and he even said they're hard to take off when misplaced, which is good knowing all the decorations on the tree and around it won't fall off easily. The music is beautiful and the rotating of the trains and the star move nice and smooth. I do wish the green if the tree was a brighter color,I would consider it more if a camo green.

This was a fun activity I completed with my son. He is 10 and could have completed it independently. The only reason I give 4 stars is because 1 piece was missing (from the train cars) and some of the pieces didn’t match the colors shown in the instructions. The different color pieces was not a problem visually, but when you are looking for two black pieces and there is only extra greens one left it gets a little confusing. However, we had fun and it turned out cute. My video did not pick up the music, but the sound worked fine.

My 7 year old was able to build this unique item himself but said it was hard. This item breaks easily when built so it was very upsetting to my kid. My kids like using the key like item to spin it to make music. For pricing, it is as pricy as other holiday items.

Yes, there were a few color issues…burgundy instead of red for two pieces…but all the pieces were there. Fit together tightly. Would recommend adult supervision if child is not very Lego savvy. I am a Lego Grandma and I managed just fine. If something didn’t seem right…it is always my fault and not the design. You pay more for Legos and they package them in building groups. Not so here. I kind of liked the challenge. I put the elves decorating the tree and plant to use the music box in creative ways in rebuilds. Great Idea. Lego should copy it. Everything worked. And oh, the green for the tree was correct in this kit. Maybe they read the reviews
